Alasdair Beckett-King was born in 1984 (the year, not the book). He is an award winning stand-up comedian and filmmaker.

With an offbeat, intelligent style, Alasdair won the New Act of the Year Show (formerly Hackney Empire) in 2014. He has performed on BBC radio and at the Glastonbury and Edinburgh Festivals.

He knows quite a lot about 19th century magicians. Tourists often ask to have their photo taken with him, presumably impressed by this.

Alasdair was part of The Pleasance Reserve in 2016 and will be returning to the Fringe this year to Debut his show at The Pleasance.
