Tom Walker
Tom Walker is a trained actor and writer, who is also known for creating fictional political news correspondent, Jonathan Pie.
Tom’s recent acting credits include starring in Mischief Theatre’s world premiere of their farce ‘Good Luck, Studio’ written by Henry Shields and directed by Henry Lewis, where he played the role of TV Director ‘Andy’. The play premiered at the Mercury Theatre Colchester, before touring the UK.
His most recent film credit was playing the role of ‘Dennis’ in Steven Bernstein’s film ‘Get Rich, Quick’ – a part specifically written for Tom by Writer and Director Bernstein, who is a huge admirer of Tom’s exceptional ability as an actor and his portrayal of ‘Jonathan Pie’. The film is due for release in 2024.
Tom’s other theatre credits include: The Quiet House (Park Theatre), Noises Off (The Old Vic), The 39 Steps (Criterion Theatre), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Teatro Petruzzelli, Italy), The Merchant of Venice (Hazlitt Arts Centre), The City Wives’ Confederacy (Greenwich Playhouse), Twelfth Night (Oxford Shakespeare Company), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Opera North) and Annie Get Your Gun (Union Theatre).
Tom has been nominated for ‘Best Actor’ in the 2024 Audio Drama Awards, for his portrayal of radio presenter Jonathan Pie.
‘Call Jonathan Pie’ was written and created by Tom, who also played the title role. The highly successful 10-part scripted comedy was Tom’s first Radio 4 commission and was released on BBC Sounds in 2023 before being repeated on BBC Radio 4.
